Dachshunds are clever, curious, amusing, lively and playful. They adapt well to new environments and are described as brave and affectionate companions. They are devoted to their families and are good with older children. They’re also good with other pets when properly socialized. As playful creatures, dachshunds are known to make a game out of almost anything. They will play with curtains, shoes, your vacuum cleaner, a toy ball, and even their tails. Because dachshunds are relatively small, you can easily bring them anywhere you go. You can walk them in the park or carry them on a road trip. You can even bring them when you go fishing or surfing! As a travel buddy, they are a joy to watch as they also explore and goof off in new places. With all that said, Dachshunds can be difficult to train, including house-training. It takes a lot of patience and consistency during the first several months as they try to sneak around your rules. They are stubborn but can be successfully housetrained...eventually! :) A lot of their success WILL depend on you. We choose our dachshund parents based on the goals we have set in our program. We naturally lean toward chocolate based dachshunds, though we have branched out to add a few other color options. While we are genetically testing for their coat, we are also checking their health. IVDD is a very scary thing, and while we work to make sure we are choosing parents who check all our boxes, a lot of back problems can be PREVENTED with proper knowledge and foresight given to their environment. We will help remind you of the do's and don'ts when it comes to these short-legged, under-the-cover- lovers. :)
Quiet and loving. Needs to be touching you. Easy going and a peace keeper.
Luna was tested and cleared of all genetic diseases by Animal Genetics.
Literally light and athletic. Jumps into our arms when we go to pick her up. Outgoing with others, and so eager to please.
Daphne has been tested and cleared through Animal Genetics.
Quiet but opinionated. Fiesty. She loves a lap to lay in and is ridiculously sweet with her family.
Genetically tested with Embark.
Adores her humans, big and small. Loves to sleep in our room, tail never stops wagging, and she's super sensitive and eager to please. Melts into us and is super affectionate!
We would have said fiesty at first, but she has settled into a very even temperament who loves to snuggle! She was quick to house train at night, and once she is tucked into the covers she doesn't move! lol She's quickly turned into our most cuddly doxie!
A natural leader, she is quick to take charge of the activities. She actually tries to "herd" the other dachshunds into doing what she wants to do! Active, always on the go until she crashes in our lap.
Patches is our quiet one. A little reserved, and working on her confidence, she's a lover who needs to be skin to skin at all times. Our little shadow!
The most independent in our Pack. Loves to cuddle but could be 100% being the only dachshund in the house. She is not a leader and barely a follower. :) She trots to her own tune most of the time.
Roxy is the sister to Moxie, and as opposite as can be in almost every way. She is the life of the party and her body never stops wiggling. She loves with everything in her, and then dashes off to something else with all her might. She enjoys everyone and everyone enjoys her.
Opal is confident and a leader. She LOVES HARD with her babies and her family. She is outgoing and willing to try anything once. She is quirky and unique.
Kit is from Dottie and Oscar. She has Oscars soft thick coat, and Dottie's petite frame. She is incredibly sweet with everyone even strangers. She is not reactive in any way other than being spooked by new things. :) She can be shy to explore or try things, but loves to be with humans.
Pippy is our neediest girl. She whines if she's not with us at all times. She loves humans and to be sitting on us or with us. She is a follower and straggler to our pack.
Summer is our girl from Autumn and Buckeye. She is confident and a leader in our pack. She loves everyone and that would include strangers!
Pearl is our CLOWN. She is goofy, silly, has the wiggliest butt, and can't stop dancing around! She loves to tease the other dogs, and can be an instigator. But she loves hard and enjoys life to the fullest!
Suki is our up and coming mom for 2025. She is smart and sassy. She is attached to Jen like no other mom in this pack.
Beans is loving and well behaved for a puppy! We are excited to see how his temperament develops!
Pickles is a confident, fun loving boy! He greets everyone including strangers and is always up for adventure!
Pickles was genetically cleared with Embark
lovable, and lets anyone pick him up. He's squishy, floppy, and quick to settle in to the nearest lap. He likes to bark to instigate the other dachshunds, but is an overall peacekeeper.
